50s and 60s Show with Glen Joseph 8pm Sunday

The newest acquisition to the Tyne FM Presenting team, Glen was born and raised in Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne, before training at the Guildford School of Acting.

He is currently touring the UK with Bill Kenwright's Musical, Dreamboats and Petticoats, having played Buddy in The Buddy Holly Story for 2 years previously. As you can probably guess, he has a great passion for 50's and 60's music, particularly Rock n' Roll, and is delighted to be able to bring his new 50's and 60's show to Tyne FM.

His Theatre credits include: Buddy in The Buddy Holly Story in the West End (Duchess Theatre) the 20th Anniversary UK tour, and in Germany. During his tenure on the show he was honoured to be asked to play Buddy at the 50th Anniversary Celebration concert (King's Theatre, Glasgow) on February 3rd 2009, fifty years to the day of the plane crash that took Buddy's life.
Other theatre credits include: Curly in Rogers' and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford) the European Premiere of Disney's The Jungle Book (Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage) the original cast of Ray Cooney's Time's Up! (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford) The Giant in Jack and The Beanstalk (Mercury Theatre, Colchester) Russ in Yiff! - A Furry Musical (Kings' Head Theatre, London) Bernardo in West Side Story (Garden Studios, London) Shere Kahn in The Jungle Book (Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury) Cavalcade (Royal Albert Hall) and Chuck in Footloose (Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage).

Glen has also worked as a voiceover artist and musician, playing guitar, keyboards and drums with "Buddy Holly and The Cricketers" (UK Tour)  playing drums on "Is There Life After High School?" (Mill Theatre, Guildford) as well as working as a session singer for International Artists.

In 2006 Glen was honoured to be shortlisted, and ultimately become the recipient of The Sir John Gielgud Award (Musical Theatre) for Excellence in the Dramatic Arts.
